Niklas Heuveldop, Chief Executive Officer of Vonage, and Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform, Ericsson
Niklas Heuveldop is the Chief Executive Officer of Vonage and Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform, Ericsson, appointed February 1, 2024. Vonage is Ericsson’s single largest acquisition and foundational to Ericsson’s strategy to enable network operators to leverage programmable, high-performance networks to their full potential.
Prior to his current position, Heuveldop led Ericsson’s Market Area North America, an organization of approximately 10,500 employees serving customers in the U.S. and Canada with industry-leading technology and services. Under his leadership, Ericsson significantly strengthened its position in North America, expanding the market share with all leading customers in the region, winning a series of record-breaking contracts, including the industry-defining $14 billion deal with AT&T in 2024.
Since first joining the Group Executive team in 2016, Heuveldop has also held the positions of Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Technology & Emerging Business, as well as Chief Customer Officer and Head of Global Sales.
During his tenure at Ericsson, which began in 1993, Heuveldop has held numerous leadership positions of increasing responsibility across the Americas and Europe.
From 2001 to 2005, Heuveldop led venture capital-backed technology start-ups, first as COO at WaterCove Networks, which was acquired by Alcatel in 2003, and then as CEO at ServiceFactory, a management buyout from Swedish operator Telia.
Heuveldop holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Institute of Technology, Linköping University, Sweden.
