When building the Greenroom tool, we evaluated a variety of WebRTC providers, searching for a reliable video solution with a lot of functionality and flexibility to support large-scale, global events - and the Vonage Video API was the right choice for us.”

Knowing this, we’ve built into the Greenroom a virtual ‘backstage’ capability that separates out participant audio feeds, so that audio from the live speakers are sent to the broadcast audience, but production and other team members can communicate with one another without the audience hearing,” explained Ackerman. “It’s basically a virtual event inception - a video room within a video room - and it changes the game from a production standpoint. This backstage capability is a super innovative functionality not offered by other live event solutions, and we were able to make it a reality thanks to Vonage.”
